Overview
Kismayo, Somalia’s third-largest city, is a unique coastal destination rich in history, culture, and natural beauty . Once a small fishing village, it grew under the Ajuran Sultanate and was later influenced by northern Somali communities, the Sultanate of Zanzibar , and colonial powers. Today, it offers a mix of heritage, lively markets, and peaceful beaches.
This tour includes three full days of guided exploration , allowing you to discover Kismayo in a safe and well-organized way. Walk through the city, experience local life, and enjoy a destination where you are often among the few tourists , far from mass tourism.
A key highlight is the visit to Goobweyn , where the Jubba River meets the Indian Ocean—one of the most beautiful natural spots in southern Somalia.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Aden Adde International Airport, receive immigration assistance and transfer to your hotel for check-in. In the evening, walking tour in the green zone area. Overnight stay in Mogadishu.
After breakfast, be ready for your transfer to Aden Adde International Airport. Take a short domestic flight from Mogadishu to Kismayo. Upon arrival at Kismayo Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and assist with your pickup.
Enjoy a comfortable 12 km drive across the open plains with full security escort, transferring to Secure Zone Hotel, Mecca Hotel, or similar for check-in. After approximately 20 minutes, begin your Goobweyn road trip. Travel 12 km north with full security escort to Goobweyn Farming Village, home to the beautiful Jubba River.
Walk along the riverfront and enjoy the lush green riverbank scenery. Sit under the coconut trees while watching animals grazing nearby, flamingos fishing in the water, and camels drinking from the river.
Enjoy fresh coconut water and a local lunch before taking a scenic Boat Ride on the Jubba River (approximately 2 hours) to the point where the Jubba River joins the Indian Ocean. The views are impeccable, where the brown river water meets the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean, creating a stunning natural contrast.
After the excursion, return to the hotel under full security escort and stay overnight in Kismayo.
Start your day early with a 5:30 AM sunrise at Kabora Beach, enjoying peaceful ocean views before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
Explore the lively Fish Market, where you’ll see a wide variety of fresh seafood, including sharks and turtles, and experience the energy of local traders. Continue to Alanley Beach to view the remaining shipwreck along the coast.
Visit the busy Livestock Market to see local trade in action, then stop at the Kismayo Monument for photos. Enjoy a visit to a local Halwa shop, where you can taste and buy authentic Somali sweets.
After a memorable experience, transfer to Kismayo Airport for your short flight to Mogadishu. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay, ending your trip with wonderful memories.
