Itinerary

Upon arrival in Garowe, our team will meet you and begin the 225 km overland drive to Eyl. It is a little African massage due to the rough road. After about 60 km, we stop at Salaam village for a traditional Somali lunch, including goat meat with rice and milk, followed by a cup of camel-milk tea.

We then continue the scenic drive, enjoying the landscape and sunset before arriving in Eyl, a town divided between Baday on the coastal side and Daawad on the hillside.

Upon arrival, check in at Eyl Resort and enjoy a fresh seafood dinner. Your guide will then brief you on the next day’s program.

The evening ends with live qaaci music around a bonfire beneath Eyl Mountain, offering a warm and memorable cultural experience.

Wake up before sunrise and start a guided trek up Eyl Mountain. Climb in the early hours to reach the Italian Lighthouse Fort at the summit, where you can see a breathtaking sunrise over the coastline.
